Why I’m Stepping Up

I’m going to be honest with you: I never wanted to be a politician, because for many years, I was the one telling you the politics and news. I’m a recently retired radio guy (K99, 97.9 The River, Max Country 94.5, Mo Country and Z101Helena). I am your neighbor, and someone who has lived in Great Falls for a long time. I’ve seen the world, from Spokane to Europe, but I always came back here because Great Falls is the only place that feels like home.

But lately, home feels like it’s being squeezed. I’m running for the State Legislature because I’m tired of hearing about and watching my neighbors struggle while the people in charge play political games. There comes a time when one says "I could do better," and stands up to volunteer. I’m not coming to Helena with a "party platform." I’m coming with a notepad and a pen, and I want your ideas on it.

The Choice on Election Day

When you walk into that voting booth this November, you aren't just picking a name or political letter on a screen. You are making a choice about your own life.

Close your eyes and imagine a Great Falls where your taxes finally stop climbing. Imagine a town where you can find a safe place for your kids to stay while you’re at work. Imagine a community where your paycheck actually covers your bills with money left over.

That future is waiting for you. But it only happens if you take the final step.

When you see my name, Steve Keller, on your ballot, I want you to remember this conversation. Picking my name is how you take your power back. It is how you tell Helena that Great Falls isn't for sale. It is the smartest thing you can do for your family’s future.

I want your advice. I want your input. I want to be the guy who carries your message to Helena.

Here is the reality we are facing together:

Increased Taxes Icon

  • Right now, the state government is sitting on a mountain of extra money—billions of dollars. But your property taxes just kept going up. It’s like the state is throwing a party with your cash while you’re at home wondering how to pay for groceries.

The Fix: I will fight for a Fairness Cap on property taxes. If you’ve lived in your house for years, you shouldn't be priced out by out-of-state speculators. It’s your home, not an ATM for the government.

  • We also have a "math problem" in Great Falls. We have over 800 kids waiting for a childcare spot. That means 800 parents who can’t get to work.

The Fix: We have to treat childcare like the essential service it is. I’ll work with anyone—Republican, Democrat, or Independent—to cut the red tape so we can build more spots for our kids and support our local schools.

Job Puzzel Icon
  • Finally, we are the "Electric City." We should have the best jobs in the West.

The Fix: By supporting projects like the Montana Renewables expansion and our medical hub, we can create high-wage jobs right here. Our kids shouldn't have to move to Bozeman or Denver to find a good paycheck. They should be able to find it right here on the Missouri River.
